Wavelink Gets the Call at Cisco Architectural Trends 2011

On a personal note, it was a bit of a shock to go from a sunny Caribbean vacation to 16 degrees and 10 inches of snow in Minnesota. But that being said, I was excited nonetheless, to learn that we had been invited to participate in the 2011 Cisco Architectural Trends Event in Minneapolis right before Thanksgiving.

A lot of large organizations have been asking their Cisco Sales teams to learn more about how they can manage their Cisco 7921 and 7925 wireless phones with Avalanche. We conducted a training WebEx with a team of Cisco System Engineers last month, and the next thing we knew, we were packing our bags and heading to Minnesota to meet their customers.

It was a one day event with a full schedule of informative breakout sessions that were well attended by over 150 local and regional Cisco customers. We made some great new contacts and are looking forward to the opportunity to solve their Wireless Management challenges.

Stay tuned for more information on Avalanche and Cisco phones in the coming weeks, and in the meantime, here are a few photos I snapped while at the event.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Web Based Remote Control for Cars and Road Show Update

Greetings! A couple of items for today’s post. The first is an article that I came across at the end of last week which caught my attention. We’re big on the benefits of remotely diagnosing and remedying problems, hence our remote control product. So naturally, when I saw that Chevrolet will soon allow owners/drivers to remotely set/check on current settings and statuses of their Chevy Volt automobiles, I was intrigued. Give it a read and tell us what else is on the horizon for remote control type applications, and where you’d like to see them evolve?

Also, hopefully you’ve visited us at either the Chicago or this week’s Ft. Lauderdale Motorola Road Show! As you know, we have some secret giveaways for anyone who stops by and mentions any of our Social Media outlets. If you’re in Ft. Lauderdale, drop by today and say hi to Don Osburn and Jay Cichosz (seen in pictures below)!

Thank you to our partners who attended & it was great to get to know you all.

The week of November 8th we will be in Europe. Register soon before the class fills up.

New Avalanche Video & Announcing Remote Control 4.0

Good afternoon! As you may have seen, today we announced the release of Remote Control 4.0. Remote Control 4.0 for Avalanche features a new web-based interface with the ability to remotely connect to any device over the WLAN or WWAN from any standard web browser. This allows administrators to troubleshoot and remedy device and application problems and provide end-user support and training remotely. You can read more about the release here.

We’ve also released our newest Avalanche product video. The video covers the various benefits of Avalanche and has some great footage. I hope you take a few minutes and check it out and leave a comment! The video is available on our YouTube page, located here.

New PCI Requirements Announced

Quick post today. Things are abuzz after we moved offices. Now that I’ve finally unpacked, I can share a good read with you that I came across this morning on PCI and the newest compliance standards, which are set to take effect tomorrow.

It’s a pretty comprehensive rundown and touches on some good information. Have a look and tell us what you think. Were you aware that these changes were set to take effect?

And since I mentioned we moved offices, I figured I’d send along a couple of photos of the new place!

Welcome to the new office!

Wavelink on the Road!

We’re on the road this week at the ScanSource Partner Conference, which wraps up today in Savannah, Georgia. Below is a photo of our booth and Joe Wilson, our Director of Sales – East. Thanks to everyone who stopped by and if you have any pictures from the event, send them along and we’d be happy to post them!

Worry-Free Mobile Device Management and a New Video

Today we announced our new offering of Avalanche Managed Services. I won’t go into too much detail, but we now provide a fully functioning mobile device management solution to organizations that may not have the resources available to proactively monitor and manage the wireless ecosystem on a 24×7 basis. We’ve leveraged Avalanche, and have created a solution that gives subscribers peace of mind knowing their enterprise is securely and efficiently being managed, without them ever needing to lift a finger. In essence, we do all the work. We’re also hosting a live, free Webinar to introduce the new offering on Thursday.

To continue to the Managed Services topic, VDC recently had an interesting write-up on Managed Services in the mobility space, specifically looking at Intel and McAfee. The write-up has some pretty astounding figures in terms of grown within the space. Check it out and tell us what you think.

Finally, I found a new Avalanche video produced by our friends at Datalogic Mobile via their Facebook page this morning. Stop by and see what a nice good they did!

New Avalanche Video

Quick post to let you know that we’ve released the first, of what will be many, Avalanche “Features Spotlight” videos. The idea is that we take one feature of the product and highlight it in two minutes or so. Hopefully, this provides a quick way to learn more about the product for end-users and partners alike. Stay tuned for a look at scan-to-configure and Remote Control in the coming weeks.

Check it out and tell us what you think!
